SPM 437 - Intercollegiate Sport Issues 3 Credits
Description This course introduces the unique world of sport within the United States higher education system. Students examine the origins/history, policies/procedures, and governance structures of intercollegiate sport. Students discuss current topics and controversies unique to college athletics, including relationships between revenue/non-revenue sports, men’s/women’s programs, financial practices, conference alignment, and student-athlete welfare.
