Description This course will introduce students to the multi-faceted arts of Africa, from traditional forms to contemporary artistic manifestations. Students will be introduced to the broad spectrum of works, issues, practices, and belief systems which are often radically different from those with which they are familiar but which challenge their perception of the visual arts and their definition of aesthetics.
Prerequisites ARTH 271 and 272, or passing a proficiency test.
