Students who complete this course of study will have satisfied the Indiana High School Athletic Association standards for coaching eligibility. A student majoring in physical education teacher education will satisfy these standards by taking the course PE 401 and six hours of prescribed coaching theory.

Required courses (6 hours):

PE 401 - Principles and Problems of Coaching 3 credits
PE 404 - Scientific Aspects of Physical Education and Coaching 3 credits

Electives (6 hours):

Select six hours from the following:

PE 350 - Water Safety Instructor 2 credits
Required to coach swimming in Indiana.
PE 402 - Practicum in Coaching 1 credits
May be taken twice, but in different sports.
PE 410 - Coaching of Baseball 1 or 2 credits
PE 411 - Coaching of Basketball 2 credits
PE 412 - Coaching of Soccer 2 credits
PE 413 - Coaching of Football 2 credits
PE 416 - Coaching of Softball 2 credits
PE 418 - Coaching of Tennis 2 credits
PE 419 - Coaching of Track and Field 2 credits
PE 420 - Coaching of Volleyball 2 credits
