Dance Minor

Required Theory (8 hours):

• PE 353 - Theory and Methods of Dance 3 credits
• PE 363 - Dance Repertory 1 credits
• PE 396 - Practicum in Dance 1 credits
• PE 474 - Dance Composition: Designing, Structuring, and Staging 3 credits

Skill Proficiencies (7 hours to be selected from the following):

• PE 121 - Ballroom Dance 1 credits
• PE 124 - Modern Dance 1 credits
• PE 125 - Jazz Dance 1 credits
• PE 126 - Beginning Tap Dance 1 credits
• PE 127 - Ballet 1 credits
• PE 160 - Tap Dance II 1 credits
• PE 170 - Modern Dance II 1 credits
• PE 173 - Ballet II 1 credits

• (required at intermediate skill level; other dance activities could be recommended as electives.)

Directed Electives (5 hours required with dance minor advisor’s approval):

Will include courses to broaden student’s knowledge of the arts in specific areas of interest. Accepted courses are as follows:
