Health Sciences Major

The objectives of this degree program are to prepare health educators to help maintain and improve the health, well-being, and quality of life of people; to prepare students to become health teachers; and to prepare students to pursue graduate education in a variety of related fields.

Students completing the public health concentration must earn a minimum of a “C” grade in all required major courses (core, content, culminating experience, professional, and foundation courses).

Students completing the school health education concentration must earn a minimum of a “C” grade in core, content, and culminating experience courses. Students completing the school health concentration must be thoroughly familiar with the requirements for admission to the Teacher Education Program and the teaching curriculum. Refer to the College of Education and the Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Media Technology in this Catalog. 

All students must maintain a 2.5 grade point average in both the major courses and in their overall grade point average to graduate.
