International Business Concentration in College of Arts and Science and College of Business

In the College of Arts and Sciences (maximum 74 semester hours*)

In the College of Business (maximum 43 semester hours*)

 

Required Courses (maximum 43 hours*):


(Students must complete all requirements for the baccalaureate degree with a major in the College of Arts and Sciences or the College of Business. All courses taken in fulfillment of the bachelor of arts or bachelor of science degree, or the General Education Program, may also be counted toward the international business concentration.)

Foreign Languages:


8 hours beyond the introductory 100‑level foreign language courses pertinent to the geographic regional concentration of study. Should include French, German, Italian, Russian, or Spanish (or another appropriate language as available or approved) 201 or higher and at least 5 hours from: 202—3 hrs.; plus either 303 or 311—3 hrs. or a 300‑level business language course (3 hrs.).

Internship:


(or approved alternative) 3 hours. Prerequisites: junior standing and approval of International Business Concentration Advisory Committee.

Capstone course:


  • 3 hours. Prerequisites: senior standing and approval of the instructor.

Electives (6 semester hours):


International Studies electives:


  • 6 hours of regional study to be selected from an approved list
    (see current regional concentration list of the international studies minor).

Note:


*These credit hour maximums may be reduced depending on the student’s major, General Education courses taken, and the student’s previous preparation in foreign languages and mathematics.
