Science Education Core (43-45 credits)
Core Science Requirements (28 credits)
If students with a Middle School Science Concentration take MATH 112 and MATH 115 or MATH 116, then MATH 131 can be waived.
Required for Biology Major & Earth Space/Middle School Science Concentrations (8 credits)
Required for Chemistry Majors (8 - 10 credits)
Students can choose the General Physics I and II sequence or University Physics I and II sequence based on their degree type (i.e. BA or BS) in Chemistry. Required for Physics Majors (10 credits)
Science Education Courses (7 credits)
A grade of C or better is required in each course as well as a minimum grade point average of 2.5. NOTE:
To complete the Science Education major, students must also complete the Biology, Chemistry, or Physics major, or complete the Earth Space Science Concentration or Middle School Science Concentration. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required in all Science Education Major courses. A minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA is required for all Science Education majors.

Minimum 8 credits from the courses listed below. Teacher Education Program
Students pursuing the science education major must also fulfill the requirements of the Teacher Education Program listed below. A grade of C or better is required in each course as well as a minimum grade point average of 2.5. Professional Education Courses for Overall Secondary Science Education majors (30 credits)
Professional Education Courses for Middle School Science Concentration (26 credits)
Degree Map Biology Teaching
This program has the following minimum GPA requirements: 2.50 overall GPA. This is a four and a half year program. Student teaching will be in the student’s final semester. Students who are admitted to the University in good standing and who have satisfactorily completed all prerequisites may apply for admission to the educator preparation program BCP I. Degree Map Chemistry Teaching
This program has the following minimum GPA requirements: 2.50 overall GPA. This is a four and a half year program. Student teaching will be in the student’s final semester.
