Public Lands & Recreation Administration (PLRA) is the public and nonprofit administration of agencies and organizations that use public lands and/or recreation programs and services as tools to achieve individual, community, environmental, and economic outcomes. The Public Lands & Recreation Administration minor is an innovative course of study that prepares students to work in a variety of settings, such as: municipal, city, county, township, park district, state, and national park systems & public land management agencies; nonprofit public lands partners, park foundations, friends groups, conservancies, & associations; as well as conservation and outdoor recreation centers, military bases, correctional facilities, and public housing.
