Latin American—Latino Studies Minor

Required courses (6 hours):


A minimum of 6 additional hours from either the politics and society track or the arts and culture track.

Electives Courses (6 hours):


Students must complete 6 semester hours from cognate courses approved by the program advisor. Students may take up to 6 semester hours in independent study towards the minor with the consent of the program advisor for courses listed in the tracks. The following departments currently offer independent study courses in the minor: Art; Economics; Literatures, Languages, and Linguistics; Political Science.

Note:


Students may take up to 6 semester hours from courses in approved exchange or study abroad programs in Latin American- Latino Studies. Exchange or study abroad courses may count towards the fulfillment of minor requirements except for Latin American 200. Internships for credit may be taken in the program, not to exceed 3 hours. Consult with the program advisor and with the assistant director for study abroad about exchange and study abroad options.
