English Teaching Minor

Note:

No course in the English minor with a grade of less than C shall count toward teacher licensure.

Required:

• ENG 230 - Literary Analysis 3 hours.
• ENG 236 - World Literature and Culture I 3 hours.
• ENG 237 - World Literature and Culture II 3 hours.
• ENG 240 - American Literature Survey 3 hours.
• ENG 250 - British Literature Survey 3 hours.
• ENG 310 - English Grammar for Teachers and Writers 3 hours.
• ENG 336 - Popular Literature in Mass Media 3 hours.
• ENG 340 - Multicultural American Literature 3 hours.

Other Requirements:

English teaching minors must take the following as General Education writing courses and a special methods course.

• ENG 108 - Writing about Literature and Culture 3 hours.
• ENG 307 - Writing for Teachers of English 3 hours.
