The Indiana State University Bailey College of Engineering and Technology includes the following departments: Applied Engineering and Technology Management; Aviation Technology; Built Environment; Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology; Human Resource Development and Performance Technologies; a detachment of Air Force ROTC; and a detachment of Army ROTC. The College’s programs focus primarily on the preparation of professionals desiring to become managers, engineers, applied engineers, project engineers, process technologists, supervisors, instructors/trainers, pilots, and teachers in the areas of industry, education, business, and government. These programs provide exciting careers for persons who want to combine theory and application in their study. Students may pursue a bachelor’s degree in any of the following: adult and career education; architectural engineering technology; automation and control engineering technology; automotive engineering technology; aviation management; civil engineering technology; computer engineering technology; construction management; electronics engineering technology; engineering (BSE); engineering technology; engineering technology management; human resource development for higher education and industry; information technology; interior architecture design; manufacturing engineering technology; mechanical engineering technology; packaging engineering technology; professional aviation flight technology; safety management; technology and engineering education; textiles, apparel, and merchandising; and unmanned systems.

Advanced Placement. Students who possess knowledge and skill in a particular technology may apply for advanced standing. This particularly applies to students with pilot certification and completion of the Project Lead the Way courses. Based on an evaluation, students may receive credit for beginning courses. Application for advanced placement should be made to the departmental chairperson.

Internship and Professional Practice Programs. All students in the college are encouraged to take advantage of career-related experience in industry (e.g. internships or cooperative education). Up to six semester hours of academic credit may be earned toward completion of the bachelor degree.

The undergraduate Safety Management program is accredited by the Applied and Natural Science Accreditation Commission (ANSAC) of ABET1

The undergraduate Information Technology program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of ABET1

The undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET1

The undergraduate Architectural Engineering Technology, Automation and Control Engineering Technology, Automotive Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Engineering Technology Management, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, and Packaging Engineering Technology programs are accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC) of ABET Inc1

The undergraduate Construction Management program is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE)4.

The undergraduate Interior Architecture Design program is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA)2 and the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD)3

The undergraduate Technology and Engineering Education program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP)5.

Advising and Support Information
Each student is assigned a professional and/or faculty advisor. Advisors can provide information concerning professional development, career paths, internships or co-ops, and other issues related to students’ professional growth.
The Bailey College of Engineering and Technology (BCET) Student Services Office advises undergraduate students released from the University College for one year. After one year of professional advisement in the BCET, the student is assigned a primary faculty advisor within their academic department.  The Student Services Office provides academic support for all students in the BCET.
