HIST 399 - How We Got to Now

What problem, issue, development, or concerns from today’s headline do you want to delve into and understand better how we got to now? This course allows students to explore the deeper historical background to a current issue. Students will work together to choose the topic for the semester. The course will then focus on developing research skills, researching the chosen topic, and understanding how to approach the topic from both historical and multidisciplinary perspectives. Students will work in teams on specific parts of the overall project to develop a series of final presentations that help illuminate the deeper history of the classes selected theme, problem or issue for the semester.
