ECON 496 - Economic Research Experience 1-3 Credits
Description Active participation in the research process is an excellent way to apply skills and concepts learned in economics courses. Students may work on their own original research topic or on a topic related to the instructor’s ongoing research. However, if not initiating their own project, students are expected to do their own original work within the broader research collaboration. Students are required to submit a proposal for presenting their research at a conference. Research will include a comprehensive literature review. Economic analysis of the research question will utilize appropriate theoretical and empirical methods. The writing process will include developmental stages. Final products of the research will include a written research paper, a research poster, and a research presentation at an appropriate public venue. A reflection paper is also a required part of the process.
