BIO 112 - Human Aspects of Biology 3 hours

Description Basic concepts and current issues in life sciences, stressing human implications. Topics include the use of scientific method in biology; reproduction and contraception, development from conception to birth, population growth, evolution and natural selection, genetics and genetic engineering, disease, health and physiology, food production and energy flow, and environmental problems. Human biology is addressed from the perspectives of the cell, the gene, the individual, the population, and the global environment.
Prerequisite/Corequisite Prerequisite: concurrent enrollment in 112L.
