AFRI 260 - Introduction to Black Theater

Description
This course surveys the history of Black theater in America from European enslavement to the present day. The course also examines major African American plays from 1916 to the present for structure (theme, plot, character, and action), as well as the social and political environment of the play in its time. This course is aimed at educating and challenging the non-specialist by developing critical thinking skills, writing skills, and communication skills.
