This program is designed for individuals who have completed a teacher preparation program; it does not lead to an initial teaching license.
Research:
Candidates for the M.S. degree must complete one research course in the department of the major (primary) or minor (supporting) science teaching areas (1-3 credits) and one research course in the teaching of science (1-3 credits).
Major:
Complete a minimum of 18 credits of science, as approved by the departmental advisor, who will plan each individual program in consultation with the student. Particular attention will be given to teacher licensure requirements, to courses dealing with the teaching of science, and to the strengths and weaknesses in the student’s science background.
