Note:
In addition to the core requirements, students must complete and successfully defend a dissertation (Geography 899, 18 hours) and meet the School of Graduate Studies research tool proficiency by completing all courses in the program core with a grade of “B” or better prior to proceeding to the preliminary examination. In preparation for the preliminary examination and dissertation, students must develop a program of study that integrates their research interests (economic or physical) with the areas of faculty expertise. The candidate will, at times, be guided by his or her advisor and committee to the program best suited to his or her needs.
