Science Education (without thesis) for Licensed Teachers M.S.

This program is designed for individuals who have completed a teacher preparation program; it does not lead to an initial teaching license.

Research:
Candidates for the M.S. degree must complete one research course in the department of the major (primary) or minor (supporting) science teaching areas (1-3 hours) and one research course in the teaching of science (1-3 hours). Major:
Complete a minimum of 18 hours of science credit, as approved by the departmental advisor, who will plan each individual program in consultation with the student. Particular attention will be given to teacher licensure requirements, to courses dealing with the teaching of science, and to the strengths and weaknesses in the student’s science background. 0-3 semester hours of directed electives for completion of the required minimum semester hours for the M.S. degree. Culminating Experience:
Satisfactory performance on an oral and/or written examination given by an examining committee selected from the graduate faculty. |
