Graduate Certificate in Advanced English Teaching

The Graduate Certificate in Advanced English Teaching serves high school teachers in need of a credential for promotion and/or to teach college-level dual-credit language arts courses. It will meet the needs of working professionals seeking 18 credits at the graduate-level in English. Students will complete courses among the following areas: teaching composition, teaching literature, research methods, creative writing, British Literature before 1800, British Literature after 1800, and American Literature. All courses will be offered on an online-only platform.
Students who wish to continue in the master’s program may do so if they hold a 3.5 grade point average or higher upon completion of the certificate.
