The PhD in Counselor Education prepares persons for positions of leadership in research, teaching, and counseling in collegiate institutions, and leadership positions in student services in public schools.
Research Foundations
Student will complete 15 hours in statistical methods.
**In addition of the hours indicated in COUN634, students are required to accumulate 600 hours in supervised experiences in clinical settings, teaching, and supervision. Hours earned through COUN837 Advanced Counseling Practicum, COUN834 Supervision, COUN793T Supervised Fieldwork: University Teaching, and COUN891 Internship may count toward this total.
Students are required to take 18 hours of dissertation credit.
