Sport Management

Students in the Sports Management program can expect to experience both academic and practical experiences to prepare them to be successful professionals when entering the sport management industry.  This program provides students with the skills to be successful in a variety of areas including professional and amateur sports organizations, event management, sport marketing agencies, sport facility management, sporting goods manufacturing, and collegiate athletics.

Major Requirements (45 Credit Hours):

  • Sport Management: Students must earn a C or better in each course within the major.

In addition, all students will complete a fieldwork experience prior to an internship.

  • Sport Management students will be required to maintain B (3.0) or better average in major courses in order to register for the culiminating internship experience (RCSM 491 - Internship in Recreation and Sport Management). Students that earn below a 3.0 will be required to complete 6 credits hours of directed electives (RCSM 425 & RCSM 461).
