Aviation Technology Minor

Aviation Technology is a field that covers a broad range of specialized areas including flight training, aircraft maintenance, and aircraft security.

Document Requirement:

  • TSA has issued Title 49 of the United States Code of Federal Regulations Part 1552 that prohibits the university from providing flight training in an aircraft or aircraft simulator to non-US Citizens without TSA approval.   Prior to performing any flight training at the Academy or simulator training in ISU simulators, a copy of the student’s valid birth certificate & Government State issued ID or a passport must be on file in the Aviation Department within two weeks of beginning the program.  In addition, non-US citizens must receive TSA approval.  See the Aviation Department TSA representative for information concerning these requirements.

Note:

  • All students are encouraged to obtain a Private Pilot Certificate.
  • Students must pass each AVT/UMS course in the minor with a C grade or higher.
