Aviation Management Major

(63 credits minimum)

Provides a broad understanding of the functions and responsibilities of a manager or supervisor in a variety of related aviation ground positions.

*Flight training is not required, however obtaining at least a Private Pilot Certificate is encouraged.

University Minor (15 credits minimum):

All Aviation Management majors must complete one ISU minor or a second major.

Document Requirement:

TSA has issued Title 49 of the United States Code of Federal Regulations Part 1552 that prohibits the university from providing flight training in an aircraft or aircraft simulator to non-US Citizens without TSA approval. Prior to performing any flight training at the Academy or simulator training in ISU simulators, a copy of the student’s valid birth certificate & Government State issued ID or a passport must be on file in the Aviation Department within two weeks of beginning the program. In addition, non-US citizens must receive TSA approval. See the Aviation Department TSA representative for information concerning these requirements.

Notes:

All students must pass each AVT/UMS course used in their major with a C grade or higher. The “C” grade rule does not apply to the second major or minor, unless it’s one offered by the aviation department.
All aviation management students are encouraged to complete their Private Pilot Certificate.
