APN 613 - Theoretical Frameworks for Advanced Psychiatric Nursing Practice

3 Credits
This foundational course introduces theoretical frameworks that will be applied to develop appreciation for the importance of theory and how it is applied in advanced psychiatric mental health nursing practice. Theories explaining personality development, human behavior, psychopathology, and mechanisms of therapeutic change associated with major schools of psychotherapy are examined.

Restrictions
Admission to the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program/certificate in the School of Nursing or consent of course instructor.
