PHIL 525 - Bioethics of Genetic and Genomic Counseling3 Credits After exploring the conceptual, ethical, and social issues that are associated with genetic counseling, clinical genetics, and genomic medicine, students will consider important ethical and social questions in these areas. Focuses include principles of genetic counseling, informed consent, confidentiality, familial implications of genetic diagnosis, discrimination, appropriateness of genetic screening, and the moral dimensions of reproductive technologies.
