SOWK 601 - Rural Social Work Practice3 Credits This course covers theories and methods of providing social work practice in a rural environment. Emphasis is on collaborating with clients’ social networks and institutional environment (e.g. hospitals, churches); the impact of formal and informal social policies and institutions on rural clients; providing culturally competent and ethical treatment.
Prerequisites SOWK 506, SOWK 507; or admitted as an Advanced Standing Student to the MSW Program.
