SOWK 390 - Social Policy: Societal Response to Human Need

3 credits

Description
Builds on the foundation knowledge of social welfare and social work. Policy formulation processes are examined and students learn how to critically analyze existing and proposed policies in their historical context. The importance of research and program evaluation for policy development is highlighted.

Prerequisites
Pre-requisite or concurrent enrollment in PSCI 201 or PSCI 305 with C or better; Concurrent enrollment in SOWK 480 and SOWK 481; Admission to the SOWK major
