BIO 471C - Clinical Microbiology

Description
Lecture and laboratory study of the principles of diagnostic microbiology. The course includes current methods of identification of clinically significant bacteria, fungi, parasites, viruses, and acid fast organisms. Clinical and laboratory data are correlated with physiologic processes and disease states. Proficiency in current techniques of isolation and identification is achieved during a supervised rotation in the clinical laboratory.

Prerequisites
admission to the fourth (clinical) year of the Clinical Laboratory Science Program.
