Research:

• BIO 692 - Research in Biology 1-10 Credits

• *Complete a total of 8-10 credits

Major:

• At least 8 additional credits of biology, ecology, and organismal biology, or life sciences course work.

• BIO 640 - Seminar: Graduate Student Research 1 Credits
• BIO 690 - Seminar: Life Sciences 1 Credits

Other Requirements:

• 6 credits of course work outside the department

Electives:

• 8 credits of directed electives

Culminating Experience:

Satisfactory performance on a final oral examination and thesis defense, conducted by the student’s thesis committee selected from the graduate faculty.

• BIO 699 - Master’s Thesis 6 Credits

Note:

At least 16 credits must be in courses numbered 600 or above.

Note:

Courses in the 500 series are open to undergraduates as *400 series. Graduate students are required to do additional work of a research nature. A course taken at the 400 level may not be repeated at the 500 level.
