The Museum Studies minor is a Multidisciplinary Studies minor that is designed to introduce students to the methods and practices of various categories of museum careers. The minor draws together core course work for matters common to most museum settings and provides tracks for students to select focused coursework in art, historical, or natural science museums. Throughout the curriculum for the Museum Studies minor students will work with museum professionals, develop exhibits, collections management, and the curation and presentation of information for the public. The Museum Studies minor emphasizes experiential learning, critical thinking, and community engagement with local museums. Upon completion of the minor students should have a clear vision of how to pursue a career in Museum work.
