Language Studies Certificate

Certificate Requirements:

The completion of 101, 102, 201, 202 in a single language (French, German, Spanish, Latin, Japanese, or other language as available).

• FREN 101 - Elementary French I 3 Credits
• FREN 102 - Elementary French II 3 Credits
• FREN 201 - Intermediate French I 3 Credits
• FREN 202 - Intermediate French II 3 Credits

• GERM 101 - Elementary German I 3 Credits
• GERM 102 - Elementary German II 3 Credits
• GERM 201 - Intermediate German I 3 Credits
• GERM 202 - Intermediate German II 3 Credits

• or

• JAPN 101 - Elementary Japanese I 3 Credits
• JAPN 102 - Elementary Japanese II 3 Credits
• JAPN 201 - Intermediate Japanese I 3 Credits

Transfer Credits

Students who transfer courses from other institutions must successfully complete at least one course at ISU in the language sought for the certificate. If all four courses are being transferred, the student must successfully complete at least one higher level course in the language sought for the certificate.
