Nursing Major - Baccalaureate Track for Students Entering with L.P.N./L.V.N. Licensure

Students must successfully complete all required prerequisite support courses prior to admission into the major.

Proof of current unencumbered licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is required as a prerequisite for admittance into the LPN to BS track along with other compliance items such as but not limited to professional liability insurance, national background check, proof on immunizations, and CPR certification.

Required Prerequisite Support Courses (25 credits):


These courses may be taken in conventional community college or university setting or obtained through credit by examination.

Required Nursing Courses by Examination (11 credits):


The following courses are used exclusively for verification of prior learning and are completed through examination only.  Credits but no grades are awarded.

Progression in the nursing program is dependent upon meeting the nursing course prerequisites identified in the course descriptions. Consultation with the academic advisor regarding the individual student’s program of study is strongly recommended.
