Prelaw students at ISU plan to apply to law school. The preprofessional advisor helps students develop strategies for selecting courses, identifying an appropriate departmental major, and navigating the law school application process.
Prelaw students select a major field of study (degree program) during their second or third semester of study. A faculty advisor is then assigned to help students develop a plan to meet Indiana State University’s degree requirements for that major.
Prelaw students should select courses that develop oral and written communication and critical thinking skills. Selecting interesting, challenging, and diverse elective courses is recommended. Students are also encouraged to participate in volunteer activities, internships, and community service.
