Business Education Major

The business education major course work prepares students for positions as business teachers in junior high/middle school and high school settings. Students enrolling in the business education major also complete courses in Indiana State’s College of Education. The business education major meets the licensure requirements for teaching business courses in the public middle/junior high and high schools of Indiana.

- Complete Business Education, Information, and Technology 492 with a grade of C+ or higher;
- Complete all courses in the major with a 2.5 grade point average or higher and achieve a grade point average of 2.5 or higher in all courses taken;
- Complete Business Education, Information, and Technology 307, 317, 320, 336, and 337 with a 2.5 or higher grade point average for this block of courses with no grade lower than a C for each course;
- Complete each course in Phase I, II, and III of the Professional Education sequence with a grade of C or higher and achieve a grade point average of 2.5 or higher for all of these courses;
- Pass Praxis II at the minimum level of competency or higher; and
- Complete student teaching satisfactorily.
