MGT 510 - Entrepreneurship Fundamentals3 Credits The course provides students with hands-on experience of the earliest stages of the entrepreneurship process. The experience begins with customer identification and progresses through problem definition, solution ideation, and validation. Students conduct extensive secondary research as well as self-directed experimentation to test assumptions and develop the necessary knowledge and skill to complete a business model canvas for a proposed enterprise. Students make multiple succinct but persuasive presentations culminating in one suitable for angel investors.
Students registered for MGT 510 will also conduct an independent project in which they complete three separate business model canvases in collaboration with an early-stage entrepreneur with whom they are partnered through the Small Business Development Center or another intermediary.
