BIO 683 - Human Population Genetics

3 credits

Introduces students to methods used to provide risk assessment for genetic disorders including Hardy-Weinberg Equilibrium, Bayesian Theorem, segregation and linkage analysis. Student will be able to utilize common Mendelian and non-Mendelian inheritance patterns, medical history, laboratory test results and other factors to provide customized numerical risk assessments for families in a genetic counseling setting.
