Design Studies Concentration Degree Map
The Art major offers two concentrations that encourage students to think and work creatively, to master a specific area of art production or history, and to become engaged members of a variety of artistic and scholarly communities. Programs are designed to develop broad and versatile creative skills that prepare students in the areas of studio arts, design, education, multimedia, and more.

(ART) Core Curriculum:
The core curriculum is a prescribed program of study required of all Art majors—BFA, BA/BS, and Art Education—and is basic to a student’s choice of an area of concentration. Required courses (18 credits):
Studio Concentration (31 credits):
Students choosing the Studio concentration will create an area of study by completing classes in each of the 3 areas listed below, along with their intermediate and advanced electives. Students specializing in Graphic Design will choose the Graphic Design concentration. Design Studies Concentration (30 credits):
