(30 credits)
The MS in Computer Science at Indiana State University prepares students for a variety of cutting-edge applications in the following areas: web development, database management, bioinformatics, data science, networking, cyber-security, systems management, general software engineering, and machine learning.

Core Courses (9 credit hours)
The CS core is designed to prepare students for higher-level courses that require a strong foundation in programming.These courses are all to be taken in the first semester, if possible.
Culminating Experience (3 credits)
The culminating experience normally involves a significant project or experience that is supervised by the faculty and is directly related to the student’s interests. Three credits are required for completion.
Electives (18 credits)
At least 12 credit hours must be CS courses. The remaining 6 credit hours of electives can be either: - CS, ECT, MATH, BIO, or PHYS courses
OR - courses approved by the student’s advisor.
Note: Out the 30 credit hours for the M.S. degree, at least 15 credit hours must be at the 600 level.
