Learning Outcomes
The physics program offers students the opportunity to explore physics both in terms of theoretical principles and experimental practices. The program features hands-on use of instrumentation as well as the rigorous application of computer-based data acquisition and analysis methods. The department supports an undergraduate research program that typically engages about 15 students each summer. The BA in Physics provides the student with a greater breadth of study, especially for students pursuing degrees in secondary education.

- MATH 131 - Calculus I 4 Credits In order to take MATH 131, students must meet the appropriate placement score or they will have to fulfill the required course prerequisite. (C or better in Math 112 and 115 or C or better in Math 116)
- MATH 132 - Calculus II 4 Credits
Note:
1) No course required for the Physics Major (BA) will count towards the Physics Major (BA) if taken Pass/Fail. 2) For the Physics Major at least the following courses must be taken at Indiana State University: - PHYS 405 - Senior Capstone Seminar in Physics
- PHYS 315 - Advanced Laboratory I
- PHYS 316 - Advanced Laboratory II
- Three PHYS lecture courses at the 3- or 400-level (choose from: PHYS 310, 311, 341, 342, 420, 497)
