Major Ensembles (4 credits)
Music majors must participate in ensembles at least seven semesters of their baccalaureate program. Additional Ensembles (3 credits)
Choose 3 credits from the following: General Studies and General Electives
All liberal arts majors complete a total of at least 66 credits of general studies and general electives outside music in order to meet the National Association of Schools of Music Standard: General studies normally occupy 55 percent to 70 percent of the total curriculum. Event Attendance
A large number of concerts and recitals representing a broad spectrum of musical styles and genres occurs every semester. This resource of musical events is an integral part of a musician’s training. All music majors and minors must attend a specified number of concerts, recitals, and Contemporary Music Festival events before graduation. Information concerning this requirement is available in the school office. Keyboard Proficiency
All music majors must pass a keyboard proficiency examination before graduation. Music Education and Music Business majors must pass the keyboard proficiency examination before their internship or student teaching.
