Visual Impairment: Non-degree License Program for Exceptional Needs

(16 credits)

Students who have completed an undergraduate program and hold or are eligible to hold an Indiana teaching license and meet the prerequisite requirements for entering the visual impairment non-degree license program will be eligible to enroll.

Students must complete the following courses:

SPED 651 - The Eye, Its Functions and Health 3 Credits
SPED 652 - Programs and Services for Individuals with Visual Impairments 3 Credits
SPED 653 - Communication Skills for Individuals with Visual Impairments 3 Credits
SPED 654 - Instructional Accommodations for Individuals with Visual Impairment 3 Credits
SPED 655 - Principles of Orientation and Mobility 3 Credits
SPED 656 - Directed Experiences in Visual Impairment 1 Credits

Note:

Courses in the 500 series are open to undergraduates as *400 series. Graduate students are required to do additional work of a research nature. A course taken at the 400 level may not be repeated at the 500 level.
