Special Education M.S.

This master’s degree program is designed for students desiring preparation for positions in Mild Intervention - Exceptional Needs. This is not an advanced special education degree for students currently holding a special education license. The area of licensure will be mild interventions. This graduate program offers two tracks.
Track one is for students seeking a mild intervention licensure as an add-on to an existing teaching license. A student may add a special education teaching license to an existing teaching license by completing the 24 credits of required course work as prescribed below, excluding any prerequisites needed. A student will be recommended for licensure only at the development level of their existing license.
Track two is for students seeking their first-time teaching license. Students in this track have an undergraduate degree (B.S. or B.A.) but do not have a teaching license. Students in this track must complete all coursework and a student teaching experience. A student will be recommended for licensure only at the development level of their field experiences and student teaching experiences.
