Degree Map Literary Studies Concentration

Degree Map Creative Writing Studies Concentration

The English major fosters skills in critical analysis, independent thinking, creativity, research, and writing through a focus on both literature and creative writing. The program is designed to lay a foundation for a wide range of careers in which clear communication and thinking, as well as research skills, are needed.  

Students will choose one of the following:


Literary Studies Concentration (27 credits):

This program has the following minimum GPA requirements: 2.00 overall GPA; 2.20 in all Major course work.

Foreign Language Recommendation:


English majors considering graduate work in English should take substantial work in at least one foreign language. French, German, and/or Latin are recommended.
