Culminating Experience (3 credits)
Select one of the following courses. Bio 692 and Bio 699 may only be chosen for students in the Bioinformatics Concentration. Choose one of the following concentrations (30 credits):
Professional Concentration
CS Foundations (6 credits)
Interconnected Computing core (3 credits)
Complete at least one interconnected computing course numbered 601-609. Data Management and Analysis core (3 credits)
Complete one course in data management and analysis from CS courses numbered 610-618. Core Elective (3 credits)
Complete one additional course in interconnected computing or data management and analysis. Electives (15 credits)
Complete 15 additional hours of 500/600 level computer science coursework. At least 6 credits must be at the 600 level. Systems core (3 credits)
Complete at least one 600 level systems course. Theory core (3 credits)
Complete at least one 600 level Theory course Core Elective (3 credits)
Complete one additional 600 level Systems or Theory course. Electives (21 credits)
Complete an additional 21 credits of computer science coursework at the 500/600 level, with at least 6 credits of electives at the 600 level. If CS 699 is taken for non-0 credit, it counts towards elective credit. Bioinformatics Concentration

Computer Science (6 credits)
Complete CS 618 and a CS database course (CS 557 or CS 617).
Biology and Bioinformatics (8 credits)
Complete the following courses in Biology that are related to Bioinformatics.
Electives
10 credits of graduate coursework approved by the advisor in Computer Science, Biology, or related areas. If the culminating experience is taken for greater than 3 credits, the additional credits count towards the elective requirement.
