Environmental Geoscience Major

Environmental Geoscience majors must complete the required environmental, chemistry, and math courses of the core curriculum. Environmental geoscience electives may be diversified to cover a broad spectrum of environmental science topics, or may be tailored to focus on specialized topics. Up to three credits of electives may be selected from other science related courses.

Required Core Courses - 21 credit hours
Required Cognate Science Courses - 7 to 10 credit hours
MATH 115 is required as a prerequisite for CHEM 105/L. Appropriate math placement score for MATH 115 or higher will satisfy this requirement.
Directed Electives - 18 credit hours
Select 18 hours from the following list of courses. Students have the option of diversifying their electives to cover a broad spectrum of environmental topics, or they may tailor their electives to focus on such discipline-related topics as environmental geosciences, water resources, geochemistry, geoarchaeology, and physical geology. See advisor for a list of discipline related topics. Up to 3 credits of other related science courses may be completed in consultation with the major advisor. |
