Architectural Engineering Technology Major

This program is designed to provide graduates with an architectural engineering technology education combining an understanding of the philosophy of building design with an applied technical knowledge of construction systems and materials acquired in a technically oriented design studio environment. A variety of graphic tools and techniques are explored in the studios including freehand drawing, computer-aided drafting, physical models, virtual computer models, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and computer imaging. Students are exposed to a wide range of software programs, graphic communication techniques, and problem-solving skills including space planning, quantity take-off, scheduling and budget estimates.
