Required Courses (18 Credits)
Electives (24 credits):
A minimum of 6 credits in each of the following areas, with at least one 400-level course in each area and 6 additional credits of electives are required from any of the three areas. At least 15 of the 24 hours must be at the 400-level. Area B: Ancient, early modern, and modern European history
Area C: The Wider World: Mediterranean, Near East, Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
Note:
Students desiring a more specialized program may declare the following concentration in place of the Electives: Public and Applied History Concentration (24 credits):
Required History (6 credits):
Directed History Electives (18 credits):
- 6 credits from (Area A) United States;
- 6 credits from (Area B) Ancient, early modern, and modern European history;
- 6 credits from (Area C) The Wider World: Mediterranean, Near East, Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
At least 12 credits must be at the 400-level, with at least one 400-level course in each area of study. A student may substitute three credits of directed electives with appropriate cognate courses taken in other departments. These cognate courses must be approved by the History Department Chair. |
