Students who complete the Certificate of Graduate Study in Instructional Design have the knowledge and skills required of an effective instructional design specialist who can serve in higher education, kindergarten-12, business, industry, government, military,or healthcare. Competencies designed into the program focus on design, development, utilization, management, and evaluation of education, instruction, and training activities that meet the Association for Educational Communications and Technology standards. Applicants must offer proof of a bachelor degree and a grade point average of 2.7 or higher from an accredited college or university. International applicants should have a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of at least 550 (paper), 213 (computer), or 70 (IBT), or provide equivalent evidence of language proficiency. The Certificate of Graduate Study in Instructional Design is a project-based program. Students gain knowledge and skills in instructional design through experiential learning.
