Family and Consumer Sciences M.S.

(32 credits minimum)

Major:


Choose 18 credits in family and consumer sciences from one of the following:

  • an area of specialization in family and consumer sciences education; child development and family life food and nutrition or textiles, apparel, or interior design, or
  • an inter-area option comprised of courses from two or more of the above listed areas of specialization.

Other Requirements:


  • 3 additional credits of graduate study outside the department.

Electives


  • 8 credits of elective course work.

Culminating Experience:


  • A thesis or a comprehensive written examination, followed by an oral defense.

Note:


Courses in the 500 series are open to undergraduates as *400 series. Graduate students are required to do additional work of a research nature. A course taken at the 400 level may not be repeated at the 500 level.
