Recreation Management and Youth Leadership Minor

The recreation management and youth leadership minor consists of six courses focused primarily on recreation management and youth leadership issues, with particular attention given to public and nonprofit management, and professional youth work. Three courses are required with the remaining nine credits completed as directed electives. Students can complete the minor as a resident student. The minor blends very well with the American Humanics nonprofit management certificate, and compliments majors in the following disciplines: physical education, family and consumer sciences, psychology, social work, criminology and criminal justice, theater, and health and safety. Recreation and sport management majors are not elgible for this minor.

Electives (9 credits):


A combination of 9 credits of directed electives from the recreation and sport management professional core, and recreation management and youth leadership concentration, and approved electives.
